This wheel has an optional extra, spikes. These are used in very snowy conditions to give grip on ice. On dry clear roads they are next to useless so will typically only get limited use in the UK.

The picture below shows a set of skis which pop down giving extra stability and straight line speed. The car was used in  a Bond film a few years back. Can you guess which car it is and who drove? The answer will be publised in a few days time.
