This is a photo of the Lotus esprit used in the Bond film.

Obviously a real Esprit can’t go underwater so a “stunt double” was made. This version of the car is basically a fibre glass shell with movable fins to allow the car to raise and fall in the water. Perhaps one day, when our roads are compeltly congested we will start to explore the possiblity of submersible cars like this. It is an interesting thought, but sadly little more than a pipe dream.
