Bond always seems to get the ultimate styling mods to his cars so here is the ubiquitous Lotus Esprit S1 from the Spy Who Loved Me.In the film the car converts into a submarine, obviously a real car couldn’t be converted in this way due to the weight of the engine and lack of space for ballast tanks so a custom submarine version was specially built.

The car is currently located at the Beaulie Motor Museum and it really is worth seeing it in the flesh (or should that be metal or even plastic!).007-lotus-sub2.jpg
