
The MR2 with its mid mounted engine poses a number of problems, firstly we need adquete cooling and secondly the need to get nice cold air into the engine itself. It also looks pretty cool and gives the car a sporty appearance.This MR2 has a rather neat roof mounted snorkle to act as the air intake.
At very high speeds there is a ram air effect but in pratical every day use there is little gain from the ram air effect. Altering the induction length can affect performance to some degree so we recommend using this method as a cold air intake to feed cold air into the area around the filter rather than in a closed system with the air filter inline. This also avoids the problem associated with sucking water into the engine allowing a drop off area for the water to run.Related posts:
