Most people first saw Gullwing doors on the Delorean in the Back to the future films. Actually the gullwing door goes back a lot further in history as these pictures of a 1954-1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupe show. This car is in stunning condition for its age and is virtually priceless.
Note the deep edges to the door frame and detailing ahead of its time such as the sweeping curves on the front wing, air vents in the wing and extensive use of chrome.
